About this Event
This 48th annual course is designed to provide the practitioner with state-of-the-art information regarding the pathogenesis and treatment of a variety of disease states. Recognized guest lecturers and members of our own faculty will give sharply focused clinically oriented talks on a range of topics.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of the course participants should be able to:
1. Review current concepts regarding the role of inflammation in CKD and cardiovascular disease, recent advances in the management of CKD/ MBD, and the endovascular non-surgical approach to the creation of AV fistulas.
2. Discuss conservative kidney care management as an alternative to dialysis and the importance of patient-reported outcome measures in ESKD.
3. Outline the results of the CKiD study in pediatric CKD patients, strategies for transitioning the pediatric ESKD patient to the adult nephrologist, and the basics of pediatric nephrology that are important for the adult nephrologist.
4. Explain new insights into the pathogenesis and treatment of minimal change disease, recent advances in the treatment of lupus nephritis, and management of the pregnant woman with lupus nephritis.
5. Describe the effects of Covid- 19 infection on the kidney and its impact on kidney transplant recipients.
6. Summarize the results of key literature articles of the past year in the areas of glomerulonephritis, CKD and dialysis, and transplantation and be prepared to implement this knowledge in clinical practice.

Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 20.5 Medical Knowledge MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine's (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. It is the CME activity provider's responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.
To earn board credit, the attendee must participate in the CME activity including the evaluation component. By participating in this event and requesting board credit, I understand that my learner completion data will be shared with the ACCME and the applicable certifying board(s).
REGISTRATION
In-person registration fees include all sessions; the reception on Monday, July 11th; continental breakfast, refreshments; lunch on Wednesday, July 13th; an electronic file of presentations, and other related course materials. After May 31, 2022, the registration fee is $795, and $475 for residents, fellows or APPs. A portion of registration fees will be used for wine and beer at the reception.
Virtual registration fees include all sessions and an electronic file of presentations. After May 31, 2022, the registration fee is $695, and $375 for residents, fellows or APPs.
Fellows or practitioners within their first 3 years of practice (at the time of the conference) will receive a one-time free registration with a letter from their Training Program Director documenting their status. Please contact Teresa at teresa.campbell@cuanschutz.edu.
We are obligated to impose a charge of $68 for non-conference members who attend the reception.
Cancellations—A refund minus a $100 administrative fee will be granted if the cancellation is requested by July 1, 2022. No refunds will be granted after this date or for non-attendance. The conference committee reserves the right to cancel this conference due to an unforeseen circumstance and will be responsible to refund registration fees only.
