The author of Under the Skin: The Hidden Toll of Racism on American Lives and on the Health of Our Nation will be on campus speaking to our community about issues surrounding racial equity and social justice. Under the Skin is a landmark book that tells the full story of racial health disparities in America by revealing the toll racism takes on individuals and on public health.
This event is open to the Anschutz Medica Campus community, ColoradoSPH faculty, staff, students, alumni, and our community partners!

Linda Villarosa: Public Health Reporter and Journalist
Linda Villarosa is a journalist, an educator and a contributing writer for The New York Times Magazine. She covers the intersection of race, inequality, public health. A former executive editor of Essence Magazine, she is the author of the book Under the Skin: The Hidden Toll of Racism on American Lives and on the Health of Our Nation. She is a journalist in residence and professor at the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY. She also teaches journalism, English and Black Studies at the City College of New York. Her book Under the Skin was published in June 2022.
