Dr. Daubman will present on her Tribal-academic partnership's work developing a palliative care community health worker intervention in Great Plains reservation communities. She will discuss lessons learned through this process of community-based participatory research and explore co-creation models in developing culturally responsive palliative care educational interventions.

 

Objectives:

Use a case-based example to discuss how community-based participatory research can be a powerful tool to advance palliative care in disenfranchised communities.
Explore lessons learned in co-creation of culturally-responsive palliative care educational interventions in Tribal communities.
Consider inclusion of a wider team than is traditionally represented in research/clinical care when advancing palliative care in disenfranchised communities.
