Whether you have left public health or are still working in the field, you are burnt out.

You have tried everything to reduce your stress and get more balance, but none of it has worked. Why? Because for every reason you have to prioritize rest, there are 50 more reasons to prioritize work.

So how do you prioritize rest when you have a list of reasons not to? You have to examine the reasons behind each action you take or don’t take—your beliefs about rest and productivity. Your unconscious beliefs contribute to your experience of stress and prevent you from getting sustainable rest.

Join other alumni and ColoradoSPH Career Services to help you unpack these unconscious beliefs around rest and productivity, and learn how to change your thinking so you can get more rest with less stress.

Speaker: Marissa McKool, MPH, Career & Life Coach

Marissa is a career and life coach and works with public health professionals who are secretly unhappy in their life.

She received her MPH from Emory University and served in several leadership roles in government and academia, leading sexual violence prevention and reproductive health programs, before finding herself burning out. Through coaching, Marissa was able to eliminate her stress without anything outside of her having to change.

Marissa started McKool Coaching, where she helps professionals 2-5 years post-MPH degree create happiness and reduce stress while figuring out what’s next in their career. She also hosts the weekly podcast, Thoughts Are Your Root Cause, where she shares insights, tools, and resources to reduce your stress and make more time for rest.
