 N DISH\n\nJoseph C. Wu\, MD\, PhD is Director of Stanford Cardiovascular I
 nstitute and President of the American Heart Association. \n\nDr. Wu recei
 ved his MD from Yale University and PhD (Molecular & Medical Pharmacology)
  at University of California\, Los Angeles. He is board certified in cardi
 ovascular medicine. \n\nHis lab works on cardiovascular genomics and induc
 ed pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs). The main goals are to (i) understand ba
 sic disease mechanisms\, (ii) accelerate drug discovery via “clinical tr
 ial in a dish” concept\, and (iii) implement precision medicine for pati
 ents. Dr. Wu has published >600 manuscripts with H-index of 133 on Google 
 scholar. He is listed as top 0.1% of highly cited researchers by Web of Sc
 ience for past 6 years (2018-2023). \n\nDr. Wu has received several awards
 \, including the NIH Director’s New Innovator Award\, NIH Roadmap Transf
 ormative Award\, Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engine
 ers (PECASE) given out by President Obama at the White House\, American He
 art Association (AHA) Distinguished Scientist Award\, AHA Merit Award\, an
 d Burroughs Wellcome Foundation Innovation in Regulatory Science Award. Dr
 . Wu serves on the FDA Cellular\, Tissue\, and Gene Therapies Advisory Com
 mittee. He is on the Board of the Keystone Symposia and American Heart Ass
 ociation. \n\nDr. Wu is an elected member of American Society for Clinical
  Investigation (ASCI)\, Association of University Cardiologists (AUC)\, Am
 erican Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE)\, American
  Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS)\, American Association
