 . Satya Achanta share his work. Here is a breif bio on Dr. Achanta.\n\n \n
 \nSatya Achanta is an Assistant Professor in the department of anesthesiol
 ogy at Duke University School of Medicine. Satya received his veterinary d
 egree from India. He worked as a mixed animal practitioner for two years b
 efore he moved to the United States for his PhD at College of Veterinary M
 edicine\, Oklahoma State University. He started as a postdoctoral fellow a
 nd lecturer at Yale University after graduation and then subsequently move
 d to Duke University where he was promoted to the faculty position.\n\nHis
  overall research interest is to protect the biological barrier from chemi
 cal injuries by targeting transient receptor potential (TRP) ion channels\
 ; and by activating the mediators of the resolution phase of the inflammat
 ion pathway to restore architecture and function. Satya has been actively 
 pursuing medical countermeasures research for the last 14 years. He is act
 ively funded by the NIH CounterACT program and industry partners. At Duke\
 , he established various rodent and large animal models of pulmonary chemi
 cal threat agent induced injuries\, including chlorine gas\, phosgene gas\
 , sulfur dioxide\, and tear gas induced pulmonary injury models. He is goi
 ng to present elements of his recent work\, entitled “Translational Anim
 al Models for Phosgene‑Induced Lung Injury: Mechanisms and Medical Count
 ermeasure Development”.
